As the calendar flips to another year, there’s a good chance you are among those making New Year’s resolutions. One of the most common resolutions is, of course, to get in shape.
Whether January 1 or June 1 marks the first day of your journey – be it to a healthier you, a happier you, or a more professional fulfilled you – the most important part is to begin.
It doesn’t matter where you are or who you are. It doesn’t matter if you’ve tried before and failed. It doesn’t matter if people think you’re crazy. It doesn’t matter how much money you have in the bank, what kind of car you drive, or the name on the label on the back of your jeans.
What does matter, is that you begin.
Beginning anything is always the hardest part. Taking that very first step out of our comfort zone will, always, be the hardest step towards a goal.
But think about that for a moment.
Beginning is the hardest part.
Whatever your goal is, even on days when working towards just feels hard, remember, the hard part is behind you – you have begun. You stepped out of your comfort zone and took the first step – that hardest step – towards your goal. The rest of the steps will follow, some easier than others, but all easier than the first.
If one of your goals is to become a healthier you, The Gym community is here to help you begin, whether it’s today, tomorrow, or on June 1. All of us started in with that first step, too, after all.
Here’s to a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year!
